Jalouse for me has long been awaited for to arrive to the London night scene. so here is my thoughts on the club as below.
1- The front door was as professional as the clubs in New York.
2- The waiters were grand at hosting especially the mixed race lady whom was called Antonette? thankyou wasted talent you should be hosting in Hollywood with all the rest of us talented people.
3- Security? front door were good with customers and time wise did not keep everyone waiting too long. the downstairs security were polite and especially one gentleman who was in charge with a mixed accent either Irish or american looks good in a suit. was so professional when it came to dealing with a rude individual.
4- the DJ could have done with a bit more RnB MUSIC WAS A BIT ROCK THEME WITH AN ELEMENT OF DANCE. PLEASE MORE RnB MR DJ. all in all you were great.
5- The club looks amazing like the marble platforms where people dance. though would of been nice to of had more space on the tables.finally after travelling to every destination known on this planet I would like to say Jalouse I will be coming back to party with you once again. you've been selected as my Top 10 clubs around the world. Thankyouyours Miss $$
The lady on the door is extremely pompous and spoke to my guests with absolute disrespect, no amount of décor could excuse the staff’s vulgar attitude. A complete embarrassment as I had suggested the venue, a mistake I shall not be repeating.
This place was expensive but you can understand why:- Decor was amazing- Service was brilliant. Everyone was so friendly and you get unlimited mixers if you get a bottle of vodka (including unlimited supply of Red bulls).- Music was AWESOME!- It was classy but comfortableThere were 10 of us that night and we spent about £150 each in the end but it was so worth it. The bouncers were a bit annoying but at the end of the day its their job to be rough and tough so you really cant blame them. If you're looking for a VIP night out then I recommend Jalouse! It is top of the pops!
How can one Jalouse small? And say the décor is nothing special? That’s absolutely ridiculous. The club is as wide an open plan as you can get, and with a dancefloor!! If you consider Jalouse small, then try going to places like Maddox or boujis, you’ll probably die of claustrophobia. And décor..? so was the thousands of Crystal Chandelier bulbs just not enough for you?
Or do you demand diamonds and emeralds hidden in every conceivable angle. Did you not see the moving centrepiece chandelier and the Onyx stone platforms and statue figure. £4million well spent on décor if you ask anyone.Staff are not always rude by the way, if you look the part and show it then there isn’t a problem.
I never get treated ill mannered in any High end London club. And I’m not a city boy, CEO, or indeed an arab / russian oil tycoon. You do have to drop at least £80 to get the most out of it. At £20 cover, that leaves enough for around 6 drinks, enough to get a little merry.
Bad points: VIP isn’t much of a VIP as anyone can hop over from the platform. The ripped seats have been replaced so that’s an improvement; blame the girls dancing on seats with their killer heels for that. They can also bring over an auxiliary table, as the tables are really small.
Oh and another point, table service is never great it these clubs, at times I’ve waited over 30 mins and no waitress or waiter in sight, I’ve even had to go to the bar and demand service or approach the clean up guys to serve my table. But Jalouse is not the only culprit, most places I’ve experienced.
Get a grip you guys...... I work next door to this place and wanted to give it a go.... Wont bother now if it attracts slack jawwed yocals like you....
Totally agree with the last review.
Arrogant bouncers, rude reception ladies, miserable hosts.
My advise Don't bother !
Small, decor nothing special, 5 shots and a red bull 53.00 better to buy a bottle. Befor anyone says I am saying this place is not worth its weight because I cannot afford it we have a sucessful company selling commercial equipment we aint even speaking hundreds of thousands. I have to take clients out this place is fine for people who like to waste money having a night out where you cant even really dance there is no room to move you pay for a table I didn't see a hostess but plenty of security pushing there way around. Door staff rude promoter was friendly. Whats with the rope around the buddha? I would rather go to the dorchester or go over to Berlin and party. NEVER AGAIN
A treat for my 21st birthday - biggest anticlimax of my life! Pre-planned, my girlfriend bought herself a great Chanel dress and me & my mate splashed out on designer suits so excited about the evening.
As we arrived, we were pushed into the admittedly nice and discreet door put were treated rudely - obviously like nobodies in a place like this. As we walked over to our table, we got strange looks of acknowledgement that we were not regulars.
Waiters ignored us until my girlfriend stood up and had to rudely wave them over. We were too intimidated to enjoy ourselves so sat and chatted quietly - while to be honest not many others danced, and finally left at just 12:30, having had been there for only 2 uncomfortable hours.
On a plus, the drinks were good - but at around £20 each you could only have a couple and would expect them to taste good. The place was also well designed, but nothing special compared to other new clubs. Had been to Chinawhite for another friends birthday and far better and no feelings on having have splashed out on nothing.
What a shame! Before I get accused by folks telling me “this is not the place for your sorts,” I have been to such clubs all my life, from the States right through to Tokyo. I don’t queue, I hardly order from the bar, and if we are more than three then it’s always a table. And not once in my entire life have I had to limit the amount of bottles I ordered because there was just not enough space on the table.
The waiter even asked us to finish one of the bottles we had before she brings out the next one! A complete disappointment that even half my friends left before 1 AM to go to another club.Ripped seats in the VIP that have been stuck with black tape! And this is supposed to be the best members club right now. Other than the lightings and a few fixtures I don’t see how its any different then Silver! At least Silver never tried to be something better than what it really was.
The worst 3000 pounds my friends and I ever spent in a club. Unless the guys running this place wake up, the hype will fad away and very soon people will realize there isn’t anything to be “jealous” off. This club will never rise to the heights of other London clubs like Movida, Chinawhite, Cuckoo or even Tantra back in the day.
In fact I’ve been to the “new” Movida and found it much more enjoyable (minus the kids) than Jalouse was.Only positive, I found the door staff pleasant to talk to and the waiters did actually try to be as accommodating as they possibly can.
over hyped, rude staff, rip off interior from crystal & awful music.ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!!!Dont bother replying to the review, Jalouse employers!!.. Im sure you sad people have something better to do like improving your club, than replying to all the negative but true reviews of your awful club!!!
Sounds really good. I've heard some great things about this club. But what's the age limit? 18?
When i first walked into the club i thought i had walked into crystal only ten times worse, the venue looked very similar, the music was awful, the staff looked very tired and almost all of them were french. After all the hype about this place i ended up really disappointed. The place was half empty. I asked for a vodka redbull at the bar and they made me a j.d coke, how hard is it to remember 1 drink. I feel depressed even typing this review. Honestly nothing special, good luck to them in the future tho.
What total rubbish! £30 on the door?! That's total b.s. Whoever wrote this review needs to get a clue, it's £15 like most members clubs.
LMAO at the woman who just reviewed the club...and she didn't even get in! hahaha. The guy on the door is really strict. You won't have much luck with the blond girl either. The night i went they were both wearing all black, like some sort of Batman and Catwoman kind of deal. They looked wicked and they were dealing with the crowds really well i thought. Can you imagine how stressful that job must be? Anyways, the only reason i went down was cuz I went to Movida and it was shite. Glamour girls everywhere, tables with wannabe Brixton gangsters giving you dirty looks, and the new set up is like a maze. The restaurant is nice, but the rest is really tacky I think. We left and couldn't believe we paid to get in there. I remembered that Jalouse was accross the street, so we just decided we'd try to get in. As we walked over, we saw people leaving complaining that they couldn't get in. The line was massive and we almost gave up. They were refusing people left right and centre. Batman pointed at my girlfriend and called her to the front. He asked her who she was with and he looked us up and down. The dude has to be a model or something. Finally he said, "Excellent, have a great night" and let us in. He even let my girl go as a guest. LEGEND. We club A LOT, and the first thing i noticed was that I didn't recognize anybody from the club scene. At most clubs it's the same old faces every week, but I didn't see that here. It was really refreshing. People were ubelievably nice, and actually say hello to eachother and say excuse me, instead of just pushing past you. And no sleazy guys trying to make moves on my girl. The first DJ was good but the second one was all over the place, but that's not really the clubs fault. My girl said she saw Sienna Miller on the way to the bathroom and I could have sworn I saw that guy from 30 days of night going into the VIP. So glad London finally has a club that isn't a sleazefest! Really want to get a membership!
I read about the club a few times in the paper but never really planned on going down, thinking that since it was a new club it would be extremely difficult to get in. And it was. A friend of mine called up to get on the guestlist and was met with a very polite "No, I'm afraid Fridays and Saturdays are strictly for members". Luckily a friend of a friend had a table and I was invited down last night. THe first thing i liked was that the door is really low key. No roid-head security guards like at Movida and Chinawhite. Nobody selling flowers or rickshaw drivers, etc. We waited in the table qeue for about 7 minutes which i didn't like at first, but then i noticed that the guy doing the tables was having a problem with a customer who didn't want to pay. When we got to the front, he apologized that we had to wait. Which brings me to the second thing i liked...He was the hottest man I've ever seen. I'm sure you all noticed him too. Must have been 8 feet tall, nice muscles, golden skin. He asked us in an American accent which group we were with as he scanned us with his exotic eyes, presumably checking to see if we looked good enough. A hostess took us to our table, which was a little on the small side, but we were right on the dancefloor. The club is beautiful, and the people in it are too. I love the layout - you don't get trapped in one area which can happen at some clubs. And there were no trashy orange girls pushing their tits in your face, or essex boys with their shirts half open either. Everybody looked great! The music was amazing and the service was really good. When I went outside for a ciggy, there were swarms of people trying to get in. I saw the hot door guy literally having a conversation with 4 people at the same time, and doing it quite well. People were so upset that they couldn't get in, saying things like "Do you know how much I spend?"
When the music went off, I didn't want to leave. Can't wait till next week! If i can get in...
Not even worth the star.
Here's my experience last night. My friends booked a table at Jalouse simply because my friends and I have never been and thought we should check it out. After a lovely dinner at Nozomi we headed there, some took a cab, the rest got into my car. The first bunch got into the club first as I had to find parking. We got to the door, and were greeted by the grumpy American at the door with a ''I'm sorry but we're only expecting one more person for that table'' I politely explained that there must be a mistake and that there were three more people expected to arrive and asked him whether he can call someone from the table that I could talk to, as there was no connection in the club and I couldnt get through to any of my friends. He lazily replied that he was not prepared to go in and find my table in the crowd. I told him that we are not paying over a grand for a table and a service that we are obviously not receiving and that i wanted to speak to someone senior, he told me that I was doing very well untill i said that and that he wasn't prepared to let me in and walked off.
As far as I am concerned not a single club in the world is worth that much hassle. I have memberships and have always booked tables in various nightclubs in London, New York, Shanghai and most European cities. I have never had such an experience especially as an attractive lady in my early twenties.
A formal complaint is to be made to the club's management team. Not everybody in a London nightclub is a shallow pisshead and these guys should know that their authority extends as far as the cheap ropes and chains they have installed outside their sleazy holes in Mayfair and that when the clock hits 4am on a Sunday morning, they are truly and utterly a NO BODY!
Anyone who does not like this club should stay home and never venture out again or stay at past it Cuckoo. Jlouse is by far the best place in London. Beautiful people and amazing music. What i liked best is, i saw the door girl turning away people getting out of expensive cars because they weren't beautiful enough. One girl flew into a rage about 'do you know who i am.... and that she was off to tramp'. The door girl just wasn't bothered at all. Good for you Jalouse, money has been dictating who gets into clubs for too long in London and i think i speak for the masses when i say we want the beauty back in clubs and not the boring fat ... with money!!
Door girl at Jalouse, you're my hero!
This place was awful! The music is crap and cant be compared to Cuckoo or Whisky Mist. Everything is so overhype and the "celebs" in the vip area were all seated and left within 30min! The sluttier girls dress, the likier you will get in! Definitely not coming here again...waste of time, money and energy!!
I have heard a lot about Jalouse in the last few weeks, people can't stop talking about this place so i went there with high expectations. Boy, i was not dissapointed. The music was amazing, the women were unbelievable and the atmosphere was on fire. It's been a long time since i went to a club and the majority of the crowd were stunning and everybody having a good time. To top it off, next to our table in the VIp area was Josh hartnet, Sienna Miller, Leonardo Dicaprio, Patrick Cox, Nicky clarke and Kelly Hoppen all dancing and going wild. Everybody stayed right to the end and even when the music went off at 4am, nobody wanted to leave the place! My night at Jalouse was truly amazing and i aim to make this my home from now on!! I will be forking out the £1000 memebrship fee because it is so worth it.
Jalouse is by far London's finest hotspot! – beautifully designed with people & music to match & none of the added arrogance you would normally find in some of the members clubs within the locality…

All I can say is I LOVE JALOUSE !!!!!**Stunning club****Good DJ****Good Security** I had a excellent time, definatly 5 star club !!!
I missed the opening due to a worktrip , some of my friends went and half of them didn't get in , but the ones that did, had a ball ! My sister knows Kelly one of the owners , she took me down there last saturday and yes we had a ball , i would say for NOW it's the place to be !
I enjoyed my night at jalouse, but the vibe just did not feel right. The design of the club is nice but it doesnt give you that club feeling. Had to wait a bit at the door and when we finally got in , i couldnt get into the party mood.
This club was OK as far as West End clubs go. However I found the design to be too bright, and the layout too open plan - there's essentially just one big room and a bar as you enter - perhaps there should have been a couple of rooms, which would have made the place more exciting and warmer. Whoever designed the nightclub obviously didn't take these factors into account.
It's not a criticism, but I was also slightly disappointed that there wasn't any food available - I had heard that the place was also meant to be a restaurant as well as a nightclub, like a place called Aura that used to be lots of fun. After a few, very tasty cocktails, something to eat would have satisfied my peckishness and my prevented a painful hangover the next day :)
Depsite my prior scepticism of a new club opening in the West End - an area that I frequent less often nowadays - I actually enjoyed my night at Jalouse - friendly door staff, cutting edge music, cool people - a blend of the many faces whom I saw in the heyday of Amika a while ago with a smattering of Chelsea and West End. The drinks were rather pricey, but not overly out of line with the average of clubs of a similar calibre. The atmosphere could have been a little more exciting and the decor / design was a tad sparse (I wasn't a huge fan of the ceiling, which was all to similar to another club that I once visited nearby) though I guess time will tell whether this place will survive the downturn in the economy. I certainly hope it does.
Judging by the launch party, this is currently place at which to be. I had the fortune of managing to get an invitation to the event last week. I arrived at 9.30pm to find that the road outside was bustling with countless gorgeous and well turned out people trying their best to get in to what was indeed an oversubscribed inaugural evening.
Upon descending into this noctural lair the real adventure began - the night was very decandent, to say the least, with oodles of gorgeous people of both sexes and from various backgrounds, several notables and a number of worthy celebs. The electro-rock-funk fusion DJ set by Skin was a breath of fresh air - much better than the monotonous, chiched music that you hear at the likes of Cuckoo and Maddox, albeit popular clubs that they are. What to me was also great and somewhat unique was the tiered amphitheatrical layout at the centre of which lay the dancefloor from which the energy in the room radiated. There were however a few minor issues particularly bright, rather harsh lighting both in the bar and in the club (probably due to the ceiling) and walls which looked bright and bare but I'm sure these will be addressed in weeks to come, as I heard from one of the bar staff that the club was only completed just a few hours before the opening!
I returned two days later on Friday and the DJ (apparantly the resident from Hedges and Butler) was fantastic, playing a minimal electro and dirty house set - the type of music for which I normally have to travel to Hoxton or Shoreditch to hear. It's such a relief as this is now virtually on my (office) doorstep as the media company at which I work is only a few minutes away. Thanks to having met one of the sexy male waiters who can get me in, I'm already planning to go back there on Thursday after work with my lovely girlfriends. I can't wait to strut my stuff on the dancefloor to some sexy crazy music once again even if it means breaking my Jimmy Choo heels!
Went to Jalouse on the opening night, it was absoutely amazing. I've been to a few so called star studded club openings in London but this one was the real deal!! The queue was unebeleievable, at lease 300 people but luckily for me i know the owners Freddie Achom and Moruf, so of course i used that and skppied the queue!!Once inside couldn't believe i was sat next to Ronan Keeting and Bryan Ferry, i'm a fan of both, Ferry more!Skin was djing which was cool but the best part of the night was hanging with Freddie Achom, Mica Paris, Mick Whitnall (from Babyshambles) and Paris Hilton. Got introduced by Freddie, never know might get to be her NEW BEST FRIEND!!!!
Went there with 2 girlfriends on the second night (friday) and it was amazing!!! The music reminds me of cuckoo and maddox, except it's better! People were acting a bit too posh in the beginning, but after a couple of drinks, they loosened up!It's big and really chic!! Go there!
I went to one of the launch nights last night and I love what they've done to this club. It is now a completly different venue and you would never recognise it from its 'Silver' Days. I wish I had a camera so I could show people, but the decor is breathtaking. There are diamond style lights covering the dancefloor ceiling which change colours with the music, much along the lines of Crystal but with a lot more class and expense! The downsides are the tables looked very very cramped and the 'VIP' area is now a roped off area at the side of the dancefloor, not really that VIP apart from the rope and the bouncer!I cant really comment on the doorstaff or the music as the DJ was a one off for the launch and I didnt have that much to do with the doorstaff. The coolist thing about this club though is the thumb scanner when you check in your coat - its worth paying £1 just to see that!!!Overall I'm very excited to see Jalouse in full swing on a normal night so am heading down there on Saturday to check it out!
