The Alma Tavern and Theatre changed hands in early August and has since seen a substantial refurbishment. We have a new chef and a brand new menu as well as a fresh and enthusiastic management team. The theatre is to remain a key feature with the addition of some live music and upgraded facilities.

Please come and see the new look Alma, it has somewhat changed.

Many thanks,

J & Z, F & R

It's probably not the best idea you'll ever have to order Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas here as they serve it up directly on top of a sheet of old newspaper! Without any greaseproof paper between your food and the newspaper you'll find the paper dissolving into your peas and yesterday's news printed on your chips. Anytime you fancy a side order of newsprint with your meal and the chance of being poisoned by consuming printing ink eat at the Alma Tavern!

Always enjoyed visiting this pub. Has a great traditional feel to the place. Never eaten here so can't comment on the food but always a great buzz to the place.

They also serve Leffe which is my personal favourite so they get a massive 4 stars from me!

5 massive stars for Richard III, a fantastic performance with amazing sets, costumes and a cast of professional actors - all this and a pint of real ale - a really excellent night out.

Had a great night here, having my dinner here and then went upstairs to watch a show.
