This recently opened pub-cum-live-music and DJ bar provides a much-needed credible music venue near the city centre.

The Venue
Boldly situated on the corner of North Street, bar Salt is an island of cool in a sea of bland bars. Once past the polite door-staff you’re stood at the apex of an T-shaped venue skirted by a lengthy bar. To rear is a large Alfresco seating area, crammed with innumerable plants, including Olive and palm trees.

The venue stretches out around the huge bar with comfy seating and sofas and a freindly dance-floor. With its solid sound-system and it’s a decent place to catch some of Bristol’s best DJs and weekly live acts.
The venue also has a popular quiz on Mondays, Live music Tuesdays and is one of the few venues to have the Sky Ultimate sports viewing for all the best in sport.

The Atmosphere
Given its location near the heart of the city centre, you’d be forgiven for expecting bar Salt cliental to be more interested in getting drunk and dancing with a short skirted lady than anything else. Thankfully the door-staff manage to ensure that the crowd inside the venue is a far cry from the crowd on the streets outside it. No young Chav's.

A mish-mash of plaid-shirted students, lovely ladies, neon-clad new ravers and stoically faced hip-hop heads make up a crowd that is as fresh-faced and on-trend as bar Salt itself. The bar staff vary from stunningly polite and eager to please and very self-aware, they are all are finely presented and a pleasure on the eye.

The Music
bar Salt's owner also has the Cooler on Park Street and has quickly managed to attract some of Bristol’s most established promoters.
