Thekla is something special. It is set onboard a ship, and has become an icon of Bristol's live music and nightlife scene. You can grab something to eat and drink at the bar and carry on into the night by getting your dancing shoes on and hitting the club.

This was my home from the age of 3. My mum sailed this German Cargo ship into the Keyside and made it what it was. Brilliant. For those of you who remember the wonders that 'the Old Profanity' really was, then you know that it is sad what has happened to it. For the rest of you that don't know, I am truly sorry. You might as well enjoy it anyway, but in the 80s it was the most unique, jaw dropping experience. Stinkfoot! Meow! Sincerely, Silky Longfellow-Stanshall.

Silky, how curious.Just reading your dad's biography.

Am at the bit where the documentary about the boat's conversion is struggling without the bearded muse to hang it on.
