Bristol County Sports Club, or the BCSC as it's known by it's members is one of best surviving Gentleman's Clubs left in Bristol. Since opening in the "olden days" things have changed a bit there and now they do allow women and children to enjoy the venue.
When you arrive you're met by a huge picture of Churchill over a working fire place, along with some regulars who swear by the Bass. The building has huge ceilings, a mix match of arm chairs and a nice big LCD telly.
They have a very nice range of both real ales, ciders, lagers and a lovely top shelf, including 'Stones'. The bar staff will be happy to serve these along side wines, bottles and Guinness (that comes in magical cans, that they put on an ultra-sonic pump to make the perfect pint every time)
The BCSC no longer offers pool, however they do have two full size snooker tables, darts, cribb and any other pub related game (almost) The snooker tables are looked after to very high standard and only charge £1 an hour to play. One of the clubs weekly highlights is their backgammon. They have a newbie night on Mondays and they also play on Thursdays where the more serious players have leagues, tornos and some very late nights.
Although the clubs is members only, they offer free trial membership, that lasts for up to a month, and you can visit up to 3 times to 'try before you buy'
It's very unusual to find such an authentic club in Bristol, let alone within a 2 minute walk from the centre. The staff are very friendly and will cater for most needs, including a nice bit of banter with the punters.
I hope you enjoy this nice find find as much as I have.
Yours,
A happy member.

I went to this club to see live music, and will definitely be going back. Unlike the bars and clubs in town which tend to have fights or some kind of macho posturing it was cool to be able to have a few beers with mates and not break the bank. Did I mention the decent price of beer? The staff were friendly, without being overpowering, it was only lacking a garden for those who enjoy a breath of fresh air after every pint.
