Under new management after extensive refurbishment. Great atmosphere, home cooked food, cask conditioned real ales, fine wines, en-suite accommodation, beer garden with fantastic views, meeting room. Open Tuesday to Saturday 12.00 noon - 11.00 pm, Sunday (for delicious roasts) 12.00 noon - 6.00 pm.
Shocking Sunday lunch on 23rd June, overpriced, small portions , rock hard and dry roast potatoes, burnt Yorkshire, and what was served was not what it said on the menu. I did complain but the waiter wasn't interested, it was my sons birthday, otherwise I would have sent the food back or refused to pay.It was such a cold room as well. Never again!
This is what a pub should be like. Reminds me of my childhood. The interior has such a warm feel and there is good crowd of people who drink here. The new owners have really turned this place around.
