Visited the Ebdon Arms in October 2012, we were a party of 18 people, family get-together, no complaints about the quality of the food served or of the bar service. Being a Sunday lunchtime, we ordered different meals from Sunday roast to mixed grills and 3 kids meals, all arrived at the same time on the table piping hot. The desserts also arrived piping hot and again no complaints about the quality of food served, one could tell it was all freshly cooked and not re-heated in a micro-wave oven, and not even frozen! (ok, maybe the chips were, but thats all!) However, one must admit that the time between ordering and the meals being put on the table was a bit long for people who want just a quick meal. For our party, no problemo, had a wonderful time, we intended to pass the afternoon there, and will most probably hold our next family re-union there again. A "franglais" who lives in the South-west of France, but visits his family in the W. S. M. Area frequently. ( Mr. N. R. Clark.)
Great pub. Had a night out here last Friday with the girls - chose it only because one of us lives around the corner - but will definitely go back there - soon. Great food - amazingly good for the price, good atmosphere & really helpful, friendly staff. I'm recommending it to my friends, and we'll be back definitely.
this pub has gone downhill since the new manager took over, i used to be a regular customer there but the atmosphere has gone from bad to worse,
the food has gone downhill so much as the chefs don't really know what to do. the front of house staff are brilliant people and could exceed with the right hands to guide them but at this moment in time i rate this pub 2 stars as the beers are great, good taste, but the food and the way the pub in run is a disgrace,
marstons needs to have a look at the money they are throwing away, not a well run business in my books, but that's just an opinion,
i welcome any comments to prove me wrong, in conclusion you have 3 very close pubs in that area and it would be wise to choose one of those.
I have found the staff to be very helpful here, i am a regular but they are always really pleassant to visiters too. The food is delightful and it is usually always busy.
