I've just got back from a fab roast dinner with my family at the King Bill!

I think they have recently employed a new chef, who is doing a great job from today's dinner. We ordered the Soup of the Day which was Cauliflower and Roquefort, it was delicious and had a good balance of flavours, and was served with croutons and a hunk of freshly baked, crisp French baguette and butter.

I had the crumbed Camembert which was served with fresh salad leaves and a berry dipping sauce and was equally yummy. Both served very efficiently! Two of us had the roast lamb, and two had the roast beef.

The meat serving is very generous, and cooked to perfection and the whole dinner was served piping hot.

Both dinners came with loads of roast potatoes, perfectly cooked new potatoes and fresh vegetables (today we had broccoli, cauliflower cheese, carrots and peas) and of course, a Yorkshire pudding, with puddles of tasty gravy.

If you're anything like us and can't resist a pudding, I would recommend the home made chocolate tart served with thick cream, the casing was buttery, crisp biscuit and the filling was rich, a lovely end to a meal.

The staff are really attentive and friendly. The pub has had a bit of a makeover in recent years which makes it much more attractive to newcomers.

Dinner is served from lunch time 'til late which makes it quite accessible and gives you lots of space if you don't like having to sit elbow-to-elbow with the 12pm-1pm rush. Don't mind the locals, they're friendly enough! :)

I brought my nana and grandad for a meal here and it was very good we all enjoyed our food. The service was friendly and the food was nice. I had the sausage and mash which was reasonably priced and a very generous portion. Worth a visit.
