visited here yesterday and was very disappointed, we had the sunday roast and I chose belly pork - presentation was nice and so were the vegetables, but I had just one slice of pork and when the fat was cut off there was just FOUR small mouthfuls - my husband had the vegetarian option - Mushroom and cashew nut roast, but this was more like a pate and didnt have any crust to the outside and was a bit mushy! To add to that the table was really sticky; the smell from the toilets (we hope it was the toilets rather than the kitchen) was most off putting! oh and I thought the bar staff quite unfriendly - I tried to be polite and smile and the lack of response was almost uncomfortable - we ate and left as quickly as we could and wont be returning......

Excellent lunch today for my wife and me. Friendly staff, and a garden that would have been very inviting had it not been for a howling gale.

This place, as the Ashley Arms, had a truly dreadful (and deserved) rep, but I'll certainly go there again. The garden looks great for evenings in the summer, if it ever arrives...

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Not only is the food delicious but better than that my (well behaved )dog can come with me! WE LOVE IT!!
So refreshing to be allowed the company of my k9 companion, we hate leaving him at home and so more often than not we opt for take away rather than eating out...now we can have the best of both worlds!
Nice and friendly staff, warm and welcoming. Deffo reccomend! *wags tail*

Only had time to pop in for a quick pint before a game at Bristol Rovers, but was most impressed with the general ambience, decor, friendly staff, and most of all the great range of beers and lagers.

Might have to find an excuse to go back to Bristol just to spend more time there checking it out thoroughly...

I love the Lazy Dog! The bar staff are friendly, the food is gr8 and the selection of booze (and soft drinks too) is excellent. And they allow dogs, in fact they love em! I go in with a different dog (i work with dogs!) every time and get a big smile from the staff and they always like to say hello to the mutts too! A refreshing change to have a relaxed, easy going and welcoming local. Thanks the Lazy Dog and all who drink/serve within her :-)(they also don't mind kids and have a wendy house called the lazy puppy in the garden if the kids are feeling adventurous!)ps, the English Tapas is truly a taste of England, and a bloody good 1 at that!

I popped in to the Lazy Dog over the Bank Holiday for a bit to eat and I must same I was very impressed to see what they had done to the place and the overall experienced.

It was very warm and welcoming, had a great selection of drinks, lovely grub (I had jerk chicken with potato salad, mm-mm) and friendly staff. And with a big old beer garden I can see it being a must destination for some summer boozing.

I'll definitely be back.
