The Masons Arms is a quite locals' pub located on Park Road. Pop in for a traditional home cooked pub lunch and a few pints of the local real ale.

This has been my local and favourite boozer for years - why, because it is just a good, no nonsense, local pub; the type that is becoming an endangered species. Six real ales (all local, except for Doom Bar), a range of ciders and an excellent garden which is a real surprise.

I am perhaps biased, offering a five star review, but I cannot think there is any other pub I would rather be in.

Someone posted a comment that his Granddad used to go there and that the pub is "Small and very quiet". It's the sort of pub you go to meet and make friends; if you are expecting bands, a noisy jukebox (there is one, but it ain't noisy), and drunks falling over each other, don't bother - you are sure to be disappointed.

Come along and see what a real pub is like.

What a wonderful, friendly place. Traditional ales and ciders in surroundings that are hard to find in these chain pub times... Highly recommended!

i popped in last week,smashing little pub-very well kept/large real ale selection,great patio/smoking area and a huge beautiful garden area to the rear.these places are getting all too rare.definitely worth a look!

My Grandad used to drink in here and it is bloody grim! Small and very quiet.
