Well laid out with excellent staff and a relaxed feel.

The Venue
Located by the river this restaurant has easy access to the city centre without being directly in the hustle and bustle. A car park is conveniently located next door and hotels and Bristol's nightlife scene are easily accessible.

As you walk in to the former boathouse, you find the restaurant and bar is nicely split in two. To the left is the bar area and to the right is the restaurant, both areas are a generous size allowing parties to meet up in the bar without feeling cramped or under pressure to move to the table quickly. There is a terrace just outside overlooking the river.

The People
The place has a lively but very relaxed atmosphere and this complemented by the background music and the relaxed and accommodating attitude of the staff.

Staff are very efficient and keen to help where they can. Clientele is mixed in age range but one thing everyone has in common - they're looking for good food in a fun relaxing atmosphere.

The Food
They have a wide range of dishes on the menu with their more local dishes being what they are best at such as their ‘Oven-Roasted Pork with creamed mash potatoes and West Country Cider sauce’ which has such complementary flavours and textures to it.

Starters range in price from £4.75 to £6.75, mains from £8.75 to £14.95 and deserts from £4.50 to 6.95. The dessert selection is also kept local and seasonal with their own version of an Eton Mess, the Shed Mess and a cheese board with a selection from Wedmore and Somerset.

Side orders are priced between £2 and £3 and are fair portions that are kept seasonal. A set menu is available for £16.95 for two courses and £20.95 for three and children’s menus are available for £4.95 for a choice of main course and ice cream for dessert.

They also do a special menu called the Brunel which includes a starter, a main course and a drink of either bottle of beer, a glass of house red or white or a soft drink all for £9.25. And between Monday and Saturday from noon to 3pm you can have any course from the menu for £5.

The Drink
Happy hour at Severnshed is between 5pm and 8pm daily and the bar serves a variety of cocktails and has an extensive wine list.

Cocktails range from the more traditional to some of the less well known such as the Royal Raspberry Doily with its very refreshing taste. They also have their own Shed Daiquiri. Cocktail prices are between £5 and £8.Wine starts at £10.95 for a bottle.

The Last Word
This restaurant is great as a regular dining experience due to its extensive menu range but is also brilliant if you are just visiting the city as you will be made to feel very welcome.
