This pub is great for a drink but I'd warn anybody against eating there as the pub is clearly lacking in management. The employees are more interested in chatting to their mates and counting tips than attending to customers.

I've eaten there three times and each time it took over an hour for our food to arrive. When it did, it was lukewarm and nothing special. What's worse is we ordered drinks and each time our waitress forgot to bring them to us.

It was shambolic and although the food is reasonably priced, drinkies are a bit expensive.

When we complained, the problems were blamed on the lack of management.

So to summarize, don't know what's going on with this place, whether they think cutting back on staff is going to increase their profit margins, but quite frankly I won't ever be going back and I'd advise anyone planning a meal there to avoid it like the plague.

Hi I have been to the Clifton a few times and one of the things that has always puzzled me was the cards on the ceiling to be honest I thought it was rather tacky.

So I asked and I was told these tales about a magician they had on a Wednesday I thought nothing of it but I was playing golf and a friend mentioned he seen him there and said he was good so I went with my wife we had a nice dinner, then Kieron the magician came over to are table he didn’t seem like much at first but then all this weird stuff started happing it was amazing breath taking unbelievable words cant describe how wonderful it was Kieron bent a fork by looking at it he turned cards to ice in my wife hands read her mind and made a signed card appear in orange I have booked him for four shows and told all my friends to go see him at the Clifton.
I think kieron could be the next big thing go see him now before he famous he there every Wednesday 9 till 11

Kind regards

John

Nice enough, the decor is fun, the beer is decent, the bar staff friendly. But a dried-out roast pork Sunday lunch with a mass-produced Yorkshire pudding is over-priced at £8.95, and you pay extra for the cauliflower (my partner had a similarly very average burger at a similar price).

A smashing pub whose unusual decor reliably attracts the student quarter.

Even so it's quite lively with a good mix of people and does a filling roast dinner which challenges you to complete it till every last drop of gravy has gone!

Definitely a good choice for those wet days when in need for a snug cosy environment.
