very small. over priced. music way too loud. seems abit seedy. and looks like there may be under 18's in there..
I have to say that since I last wrote a review on the Lounge thing have changed quite a bit,but first I want to say that whoever stated that the staff were rude must be out of there mind,I ALWAYS FOUND THE STAFF TO BE VERY POLITE AND WELL MANNERED,AND AS FOR THE MUSIC BLASTING OUT ,THAT IS BALLS,This is a gay pub but it is also a place were any person could, and can use no matter what there sexuality,I am very pleased that the present owners have taken over ,even if it is a bit pricey, and as for the music you can always ask them to turn it down. Thanks Paul and Baz for keeping it open.
What a dive. Music is waaay too loud and the people all seem to be braying, antisocial idiots. Every five minutes an ego-crazed MC gibbers unintelligibly over the dreadful music, causing one to bite back tears of frustration. It has no community spirit or party atmosphere at all, more the kind of enforced corporate "fun" seen in very, very straight hetero bars.
Indeed, this place is very much the gay equivelant of All Bar One or Oceana - only much, much more cramped, and incredibly loud, so that even if you did meet someone nice it would be physically impossible to talk to them.
Places like this are the reason people give up on the gay scene - all about making money off people and no attempt at all made to make a nice space to meet people in.
I've been to this bar in the week, mainly tue or wed,cis its my nights off,and I find the bar man very unsociable,it seems,if you don't come down from the flats upstairs,he doesn't want to talk to you, even if you we're the only person in their.
Great bar .. draws the younger crowd ... good music and well managed
Bar staff excellent, door staff very friendly ... a pop in and stay pub ....well worth a visit
This is a great place for people like me who are gay but cannot come out,it is the only place I go where the fabulous staff make me feel happy in the surroundings, thank you all.
Absolutly fabulous bar, the staff are so cute!
