Impossible too book a table for christmas meal. The fact I went in to the pub itself too book only to be told there was no one to take my booking! I was not impressed.

Too secure your online booking you have to go in and pay a deposit they do not take cards over the phone.

They come out with the excuse they are short staffed, well they should employ more, most firms take on more staff at christmas because it is a busy period.

This does not make a good impression so god knows what the food will be like.

Been several times in the past but never been so disappointed! Waited almost an hour just for the starters, when the main meals came they weren't worth the wait, cold and the beef was rock hard.we were told afterwards that the waitress should have told us there was a 40min wait on food and she should have checked back to see if our food was ok, failed on both counts! More interested in finishing her shift than our wellbeing! Did manage a bill reduction in the end just before we walked out, our special meal was spoilt by their incompetence! Won't be going back in a hurry!

DONT BOTHER! I went there last night for my 18th birthday in a group of 10 people. We didnt get shown to our table then once we did find our table our waitress then came over and asked if we would like to order anD she was lovley then once the food did come out 45 minutes later 3 of the ten meals wear wrong the mixed grill came out cold the duck came out cold and the ribs were black and burnt. So the waitress took them back the steak came back out the same they just microwaved it and the other meals came out but still wasnt the best. By the time the 3 wrong meals had came back out the other 7 people had already finished eating so it ment we couldnt eat together any way. I highly reccommed not going there apart from waitress the rest were very very rude. Isuggest that the good thing they could do is sack the chef.

Been eating here a few years, 18 months back it changed management, before that the food was nasty. The food now is great and menu much better....problem is they cant cope when their busy. We use it as its local.

Only 5 of us ate last week and 3 meals came out and left 2 waiting.

Quantity of food is good for the money .

After reading the reviews below I thought i best add mine on to even it out a little. I met a couple of friends here last night for a few glasses of wine and some food, even tho I'd read the bad reviews I decided to give it a chance. And i'm glad I did.

The food was pleasant and so reasonably priced I find it hard to believe people can complain. Obviously if you want 5 star food in what is technically a 'local'expect to be disappointed and head into town for a more expensive place. However for some good well priced food this is great.

All our dishes were presented well, cooked well and tasted great. Even with a couple of glasses of wine & pudding and it didnt come to more than £15 per head.

The waitresses were lovely and I would definitely go again.

We have just had one of the best meals in the Wessex flyer this evening. We were served by Shelly and Steph who were both friendly and professional and Toby who brought our food from the kitchen was very enthusiastic about all the dishes we had. Drinks were reasonably priced and suitably chilled. Our food was delicious, cooked very well and nicely presented. We didn't feel rushed or a bother to the staff who took the time to talk to us. A pleasure of an evening.

Dont bother!! the food was cold and chicken was still pink in the middle, the staff are not the most helpful when we complained we then had all the staff giving us a lookover, our meal took over an hour to arrive, ok the meals not eaten were deducted from the bill however three of our party had to sit there whilst the others ate their food, when they had finished we went over to Frankie and Bennie's better service and hot food there. we had a drink at the bar so the others in our party did get a meal in the end, wish we went there in the first place

Great meal, perfect service except for rather aloof attitude of female bar-staff, table service was spot on. Only real let down was the lack of cleanliness in the Gents toilet, really badly stained and covered in lime scale, shame, everything else was good.

although i have eaten here before i was very pleasantly surprised by the warmth of welcome i received, the meal was spot on and through out the staff seemed genuinely interested in weather my evening was going ok and seemed to fall over them self to ensure that myself and guest enjoyed ourselves, nothing was to much trouble, service was excellent.

highly recommend, have even purchased tickets for their new year bash.

Visited this pub for a meal and the kindest thing I can say is that this pub should get closed down.

The food was poorly cooked, and had obviously being put in a microwave. Parts of the plate were cold whilst others were too hot to eat.
The staff were sullen and disinterested.
The venue looked like a crime scene, and by the time you had fought your way through the crowd smoking outside the inside did not match up.
Tables were dirty and plastic.
I will never visit this place again.

I have slight concerns over the food here, sometimes it is very good and other times it tastes like it is fresh out of the microwave. Im guesing it depends on how busy it is, but it does put me off coming here.
