I'll begin with the cleaning standard, which seemed lacking, despite a fairly empty main lounge with few other customers around. There were bits of food under our table, empty glass tumblers uncollected from a railing nearby, and my fork had a small sticky spot on the handle. There didn't seem to be any condiment trays around, nor bins in which to deposit litter. Do your bit to cut unemployment and hire a cleaner.

My server hadn't been trained to properly use the coffee-making equipment, despite it being their third shift. The "training", such as it was, involved an impatient-sounding colleague tersely gesturing at the object while giving the basics, then leaving him to flounder. I felt for the guy; it felt like he was getting a telling-off, not the training he needed. I offered a little encouragement of my own.

I didn't sample the meals my children ate. For my part, my steak order was medium, and not medium-rare as I'd ordered. The baked beans I asked for came out as shrivelled frozen peas, demonstrating some form of genetic mutation on their way from the freezer. The frozen economy steak-cut chips were overcooked, and the tomato was under-ripe (though I blame the long wintry season we've had for that) and undercooked.

My coffee came to me lukewarm and with only two half-teaspoon servings of sugar. Seriously, guys, trays of condiments are easy to dot around the place. Also, semi-skimmed milk should be -an- option, not the only one. I know I could have asked for more sugar sachets, but the one to handle my order looked like he had enough on his plate already.

I found the tables clean and the food was good for the price and it would of been great if it wasnt for the mouthy horrid girl shouting at the staff -(new girl and lad) and then moaning about them to other members of staff (loud enough for them to hear-they looked so upset) there were some really friendly staff but the dark haired, rude, bossy girl needs to go! what a bully!

Barman said cant hear me... idiot.... ring x 3 can hear me this time (funny) I ask to book a table and said he is fully booked as he has taken 30 covers and then if first come first served... didnt even ask me for how many.... 30 covers... what sort of chief is it... we were a party of 15 so can see that they wouldn't of coped and will have to find somewhere to go where they can be more polite and know what the heck they are doing and NOT be so darn rude!!!!

The food here is your typical Spirit Group stuff.

A lot of it is cooked from frozen/microwaved, so don’t come expecting freshly cooked pub grub.

If everywhere else is busy, you fancy a quick bite with a pint, or want a cheap meal then this is the place to come.

One thing I will say is this pub currently offers 2 for 1 on practically there whole menu.

So if you are on the leisure park and on a budget its worth considering.
