Held my retirement dinner there on the 1/05/15. Absolutely brilliant, food amazing as always and service outstanding. This is the restaurant for any occasion, they made my 24 guests feel very welcome but equally can make any individual feel special.

went to this curry house with one of colleague first time after reading below reviews. To be honest I had never come across such a bad curry house in bristol. Food served uncooked, no good service and post dinner am subjected to food poision. I will never receommend this curry house for any one.Dont waste your time and dont spoil your health.

This is the best Indian Restaurant I've ever been in, in the UK.

Have been to this curry house many times before and the food and service is great ,the price is very good for the food have been to other curry places in clifton and town and they are not as good as this place .Patchway is fine its mostly private houses with a few council one in the middle very nice place up to some others

For 6 years now myself and family have regularly eaten at the Basmati never had anything but a great service and wonderful food, good menu choice and a relaxed atmosphere will ensure we keep going back for more, one of the best restaurants i have found in Bristol and i have tried many.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Bristol, the staff are always friendly, the food great value and tasty, portion size very good and at an affordable price. My husband and I have always raved about this place and would recommend to all
I know it's in Patchway, but you really must try it out.

This has become our favourite Indian restaurant over the last eighteen months since we discovered it.
Friendly service, great food, reasonable prices, nice decor, no heavy sitar music - what could be better.
We have never had less than an excellent evening out at Basmati

Visited at Basmati with a colleague on Thursday 5th Febraury 2009 after seeing the other reviews.
I must say, what a great restaurant !
Good, clean decor. Great choice on the menu & really tasty food. Reasonably priced as well, so overall it is excellent value.
Great service from the owner & his staff. Very friendly & attentive.
Will definitely be back !!

Excellent food and very reasonably priced.Very friendly service and reasonable drink prices , although wine selection is rather limited , but draught Cobra and Kingfisher lagers

Would recommend any of the main dishes - my personal favourite is Tal Chicken. Good portions so just go for poppadums as a starter.Internal decor is quite upmarket (by indian restaurant standards),so not your usual "Gloucester road curry house dark and dingy"

Owner is very affable chap who knows the value of making sure customers have a good experience and return - often gives a drink on the house to regulars.Don't be put off by the Patchway location - you're going for the food and it's very good - if this restaurant was located in Clifton , rather than Patchway , the bill would be double the price.highly recommended
