Situated in an old factory the Firehouse Rotisserie is a well-loved hidden gem. It serves a beautifully prepared cuisine within stylish surroundings.

Went there on a Tuesday Evening for dinner with my BF and His mum.
I had Pork Loin with Sweet Potato Cakes.
He had Texan Spiced chicken.
She had Salmon.
And one bowl of fries to share (plenty).

All 3 of us cleaned our plates.
Food cooked beautifully.
Portion sizes were HUGE and filling.

And I have to say the Sweet potato cakes alone were to die for!
Seriously good.

We skipped starters as we saw the desert menu and that looked scrummy too.

Deserts:
Bread and butter pudding - mine, light, fresh with yummy custard.
Tiramisu (with vodka) - seriously, to die for.
Cheesecake - His mum was rendered speechless.

Roughly, £25per head including drinks (we dont drink alcohol)
For a filling, tasty, satisfying meal with friendly staff and a beautiful setting.

Good food, cooked honestly.

Will eat there again and recommend.

Mystifying. As locations go, it's a really good spot. As a venue, the Firehouse is fantastic - great building with industrial features making it pleasantly different to anything else around. Why then, do you try to suppose, would it be so average (declining to poor) on the food and service front?
Last evening’s meal was pathetic. Opening smiles from a bored waitress papered over the cracks initially that were to become evident; our experience quickly deteriorated. The reveal began with a pretty basic pizza menu - gourmet apparently - with limited ingredients and a weak selection of overpriced wine. When the food arrived it was the sort of sloppy effort you might expect from a late-night cheapy. Bad dough had been underworked and over-proofed, heavy saucing had reduced the centre to a wet latex-glove topped with red mush. As a plus, the topping ingredients were well flavoured, chorizo good quality, vast amounts of good goats cheese but too much can be, well, too much.
After crunching through the third piece of charcoalised dough-remnant had welded itself into the base, I had to call a halt.
Explaining our dissatisfaction, the waitress looked at us aggressively, denied that the charcoal was charcoal, offered no further response and threw - actually threw – the dessert menu on the table, already at a half-turn away. Cue much hissy dialogue between server and cook.
The manager gave a weak, “Oh, I’m sorry about that....” in response to our summary.
As an independent, there is an opportunity to be different, definitive and remarkable in the face of corporate competition. Depressing that these people have done the opposite.
Perhaps we should have tried non-pizza items, perhaps we should have respected the conspicuous lack of any positive feedback from anyone about the place.
Will never know whether this was a one-off as will never mug myself by eating there again. The price of our ignorance? £45 for two pizzas and a bottle of wine.
Mystifying.

I booked a table at the Firehouse for Valentine's night 2010. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful building which oozes character and which is tastefully and pleasantly fitted out inside. The staff were without exception welcoming, courteous and pleasant.
The food was most acceptable although not outstanding, however when it arrived my meal was not the one I had ordered. The waitress was genuinely apologetic and although my partner's food was kept warm while the correct order was prepared for me this did not improve the quality of the food. All in all not quite what I had hoped for the money but acceptable.
I understand that the women's washroom facilities were excellent. Not acceptable however was the state of the Gentlemens facilities: Paper towels on the floor, cheap plastic toilets coming away from the wall fixings and overflowing from partly blocked drains. Room for improvement... please!

To be honest when i first went here i didnt enjoy it but the second time was just lovely. It may have been who i was with the first time, lol. The food was always good and the service is always with a smile. Nice.
