Gave this take-away a try as it had good reviews online.
Ordered the lamb Ceylon which was very very mild, usually quite a hot dish and my girlfriend ordered lamb rogan which was lukewarm when she dished it up.
Sag Aloo, rice and poppadoms were nice. Although I ordered pickles and only got 1 creamy coconut yellow thing - no lime pickle which is a must with any curry!
The worst part is even though it only came to £18, it's costing me a lot more as I can't go to work with food poisoning today and that's why I'm writing this review. My girlfriend was fine and she also had lamb, but was shocked to see tubes in her meat (didn't realise rogan was an acronym for organ!)
Still on the search for a decent curry house on the north side of the river in Bristol.
Just tried Inner Fire for the first time and am impressed :)
My girlfriend and I get takeaways regularly but not often a Curry as they're too expensive, around £18-20 with 'trimmings' for the two of us. Not the case with Inner Fire, we ordered Onion Bhaji's, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan Bread, Pilau Rice (egg), plain Pilau and Poppadoms, all coming to £14.
We shared the Tikka Masala as it came in a large foil tray (much like you get from most chinese deliveries) which was enough for both of us with the extra's we ordered aswell.
All in all very happy, the reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is based on other currys i've had, though they've cost £20 per head in restraunts, so not a bad deal £14 for two!
Love this restuarant, my husband and I have eaten here a few times and the food is great, atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very welcoming. I always recommend this restaurant to friends. Excellent value for money too! Can't wait for our next night out to enjoy another lovely meal - thanks Inner Fire!
Pros
This place had really friendly and polite staff and delivery was fast (only 40mins from calling them), it's also quite cheap compared to other Indian takeaways we've tried.
Cons
The actual food wasn't that great, both dishes we tried were very very watery and used frozen vegetables. There wasn't much meat in either dish and overall there wasn't that much of a taste. The rice, naan and poppadoms were lovely though.
Similar to the reviewer below, I used to visit Inner Fire when I lived round the corner, and then moved a couple of miles away, but still choose Inner Fire over my new local curry houses.
Friendly, polite staff, excellent food, and doesn't cost the earth either. I have tried many Indian restaurants in Bristol, and this is still the best.
Because we lived very locally we've been getting curries from Inner Fire since it opened, and continue to now we've moved a bit further away.
The food is excellent and well-priced and the staff have always been very friendly and made us feel welcome. The takeaway and delivery service has also been brilliant.
They've always been very flexible about booking tables and I can't recommend them highly enough; they're a real jewel among the local restaurants and takeaways.
Had a lovely korma from here, best one I've had in a long time.
