No 4 Clifton Village is a stylish venue offering a varied choice of drinks and British meals.

I have just returned from a meal at no.4 Clifton Village and I have to say I was very disappointed! We arrived to a very strong smell of fresh paint and a sign saying they were decorating! When I decorate at home we go out because I don't like the smell of paint, I certainly don't expect to pay to sit in that smell. There was dust all over the radiator we were sat by because they had obviously been sanding down the woodwork but not cleaned it up properly.
My husband tried to buy a pint of lager at the 'bar', which was nothing more than a bare room with a few drinks in it. He was told he couldn't have a pint because the pumps weren't connected but they would be next week!
Every mouthful of food was delicious and I can truly say every mouthful because there was so little food on my plate I could count it in mouthfuls! I have had to come home and have something to eat to stop my stomach rumbling.
I know the decorating will be over soon so that won't affect everyone who visits but I think restaurant owners who continue to accept bookings when their restaurant is dirty and smelly, because they are decorating, show a distinct lack of consideration for their customers. It also concerns me as to the standards they consider acceptable.
