I have put on two nights at The Cavern. The space is good with a decent size main room and nice looking bar, although the sound system is terrible (we had to bring our own). The staff are nice enough, but the problems arise with the security/bouncers, who are horrible and seem determined to ruin everybody's night.
They spent the whole night looking for reasons to throw people out, and were extremely aggressive and rude. They were also unusually intense about searching policies and seemed to be employing some sort of racial stereotyping. Almost all of the people there I knew and I spent most of the night trying to convince them to not eject my friends. It was a complete nightmare and is a shame as it has the potential to be a really nice place. Because of this we have stopped using it and will never use it again.
So if your planning on using it as a venue, or just going for a night out in The Cavern - be warned!
The Cavern is definitely BACK IN THE GAME!! Saw 3 sick bands last night. Jagermeister served by hot girls with big tits. This is heaven.
