You would i'magine being such a food fanatic as myself, not to mention the fact i have lived in Bristol all my life I would have discovered this place sooner, But as you can guess from the opening to this review.. I had not.
To begin we were greeted by a friendly Italian looking waiter, who (as the restaurant was some what empty) gave us the choice of any seat we wanted. We were then presented with the food menu and wine list, which judging by the fact we had ate at "zizzi's" two days earlier was surprisingly in-expensive.
The food was a fair price, but made it even fairer as the menu was broad.
The main, I had the chicken and my partner had the salmon was VERY tasty, The veg was crisp and the sauce was just as nice.
The salmon which i tasted was firm and fresh and very well seasoned, served with new potatoes and veg this was a whole-some meal.
I chose to take the less Italian theme as i have ate at a hundred plus restaurants and wanted to try something different, and also this meal was (next to the stake) the most expensive thing on the menu and as im sure all good reviewers do, I like to review the top of the menu because if you are charging a high price, you would expect high quality!
The waiter was VERY Friendly and polite and deserved his £5 TIP.
the whole vincenzos team were chatty and friendly and really helped make the whole exsperience enjoyable and rememberable.
Will recomend to anyone looking to have a tasty, reasonabily priced meal and an all round good night!
Dined here yesterday before myself and my 2 daughters watched a show at the Colston Hall.
The restaurant itself is very authentic and even though it looks like it hasn't been refurbished since it first opened,it just adds to the atmosphere.
We were served by a very polite and friendly waiter.
When the food arrived it was piping hot and very, very delicious. The portions were large to say the least but a doggy bag was offered if we'd wanted it.
The deserts were to die for and a selection was actually presented before us instead of a menu so you could see what was on offer.
Prices were reasonable and for 3 mains,2 garlic bread,3 deserts and a bottle of Rose wine it cost £72.Bargain.
Will definitely be returning in the future.
Thank you Vincenzos
I visited Vicenzo last Saturday and the service was absolutely amazing and could not be faulted in any way. The food was even better. All home cooked authentic Italian cuisine which reminded me of my holiday in Italy. The only thing missing was the sandy beach and the sea.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a traditional Italian experience with good food, good wine and even better staff.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. They are proud of their chef and rightly so. Highly recommended.
Vincenzo's is a fabulous restaurant, it has been going for many years and I have frequented it since my early teens! A family run business it has a very relaxed and 'homey' atmosphere. We recently returned for my fathers 56th birthday and once again we were made to feel like part of the family. I have four children ranging from 11 to 2 and all were entertained especially the younger two who were encouraged to roam around and spend quality time watching the fish! If you have children this is such a special place as you don't have to keep the 'seen and not heard stiff upper lip' rubbish going! The food is and has always been wonderful, I am a pizza and pasta fanatic and have never been disappointed here. The staff are very friendly, polite, and cant do enough for you, the meals are good size portions and value for money. I recommend vincenzos to anyone and everyone, go enjoy yourselves!
Very good.
The bad news was that having arranged to meet a friend for lunch on Good Friday our first thoughts were Pizza Express.
However being half full (?) we were turned away!
Fortunately for us we promptly discovered Vincenzo's!
(been in Bristol 13-yrs and never really noticed it before tucked just of Park St, one road down from Pizza Excess).
Very friendly service! VERY child friendly (the waitress seemed happy to also entertain our boisterous 2 and 4 year old).
We ordered 3 adult 3 course meals and two child's meals (eldest is a pizza and lasagna fan) total cost including 2 soft drinks, a beer and coffee (included), and 10% Service charge: £42!
Our pizzas were fine/good (bit heavy and gooey with cheese) but beat hands down the gunk you would get in Pizza Hut or similar. The bases lovely thin and crispy.
Bad luck Pizza Express and well done Vincenzo's.
This restaurant's address is a little misleading as it doesn't have an entrance on Park Street - you have to go a little way up Charlotte Street to find the rather small entrance! It's situated at the top end of Park Street - handy if you've just been to a concert in St Georges!
One part of the restaurant overlooks Park Street and has blinds that can be opened up when the weather is warm; if the weather is cold, this part can also be rather cold too! However, the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
There is a good choice of pizza's - all freshly made - and the usual Italian pasta's and meat and fish dishes. The puddings and sweets are excellent - especially the chocolate ones! Italian beers and wines are available. There are lunchtime specials on offer on Mondays - Fridays but there don't seem to be many specials on offer in the evenings. When you are looking at the menu, remember to add on the obligatory "service charge".
Vincenzos is my fave iti restaurant. The calazones are great, the service is excellent and the chocolate desserts are to die for, would recomend it to all.
