I have been going to the Old E for the past couple months & it is a decent pub. Good pool tables & great garden. Wicked when the sun is out as the front garden gets the sun all day.

I have recently been to The Old England, which was my first time and I found it to be quite the opposite of the negative reviews below.

It was a very relaxed atmosphere, with friendly bar staff. It has an excellent terrace with a heated smoking shelter.

All the people were very nice and well mixed.

I will definately be going back again & would recommend it to anyway who wants a nice chilled out drink.

On weekends they also do 4 selected shots for £5 - bargain!

Used to be a great pub, the social centre of Montpelier. Under the current management, all the regulars have been barred or have left. Wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot bargepole.

This pub is clearly a home to the lowlife of Montpelier, and is in serious risk of getting in to trouble with the authorities in regard to pissing off local residents with massively over loud distorted music pumping out in to the early hours of the morning.

Great local pub, reasonably priced beers. with HUGE plasma tv, 2 pool tables, table footy and darts .
the curry nite is excellent value for money £5 for a curry or chilli dish and a bottle of beer or double shot of house spirits.
it even got a heated coverd smoking shed.
