Probably the worst, unfriendly, pub in the Southwest, after spending a £100 on a meal was told by the management to F*** off because the children were playing,
very very rude people, should never be involved in a business that deals with the general public,
threated with violence while holding a 6 months old baby in my arms, (totally unexceptable cowardly behavior)
Avoid Avoid at all costs !
Plenty of nice pubs in the area that will be glad of your custom,
This my first time writing a review, but just had to let anyone who might be reading this about the wonderful visit we had yesterday. Great service, the best I have seen for a long time and the surrounding are lovely. The food was great, so thank you White Hart and I will be back.
My mum arranged a christmas party booking with White Hart Inn for 11 people, few days before she phoned to check our booking was still in order and the owner advised her they had lost our booking. She agreed to book us back in but then said she wouldn't honour the Christmas deal which included a free bottle of wine, obviously my mum wasn't very happy about this - not only did she lose our booking they're now fobbing us off our deal! - she expressed how disappointed she was in a polite manner and the lady replied saying "you're clearly not going to be happy with our service so I've cancelled you're booking"! So 3 days before the party my mum had to find another venue willing to squeeze 11 of us in at such short notice at Christmas time! The owner she spoke to on all occasions had a vile attitude and they clearly have no idea how to deal with bookings let alone deal with a complaint! Amateurs. Will make every effort to spread the word to stay far away from White Hart Inn and their vile service!
With such varied reviews we was reluctant to book here. So we went along to try it out before making our booking for our Mums 90th. I am not sure where these other reviewers were but they could not at have been at the White heart. The staff are brilliant from the time we came in the door to leaving they were attentive and looked after us. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to come, and the place was very busy. The food was delicious I had the steak and it was cooked exactly as I asked, my Sister had the Lamb Rump. We both were pleased so we booked the party and looking forward to going there next month. Keep up the good work.
We recently went to this public house as it is close to where we have recently moved to.
Well where do you start........
We order food and drinks and our food arrived 45 minutes after we ordered it and no apology was offered as to why we had to wait so long.
we also witnessed a table leave after waiting over 1hr for their food and they asked to see the manager but no one came.
We left very unimpressed and saw the manager one our departure having a not so friendly conversation with some other disgruntled diners.
Avoid.
Went to this pub on a thought not to expect much after reading some of the reviews but I am glad I did go there as the food and service was excellent.
All the staff were pleasant and polite couldn't do enough for you and as for the food well i thought it was perfect the fish cakes were amazing and my husbands steak was so tender he didn't need to use a steak knife.
i would recommend to give this pub a try and you wont be disappointed
What a disaster. Having examined the attractive web site we booked a table for four and expected something special.
We sat in an attractive dining area and ordered some drinks. Instead of 2 glasses of rose as ordered, only 1 arrived and we were told they had run out.
We then ordered 4 main courses and waited patiently but after nearly an hour no food had arrived and there was no one around to ask.
After some searching we found a member of staff who went off to find out what the delay was. He came back full of apologies and said that our order had not been put through.
We asked to speak to the person in charge and he went off. A few minutes later he returned to say that the licencee was busy at the moment but would come to see us.
No one arrived, so we went to walk out and found a woman behind the bar who we believed to be the licencee. There was no one else there, no staff and no customers.
She kept apologising but offered no explanation, nor had she gone to find out what had happened.
So, what was the food like? I have no idea, but I do know that customer service is no existent. It is not as though they were busy, there were only 8 others in the dining area, 6 of whom were there before us. Never again!
After attending a wedding reception here I was not impressed at all with the quality of care and attention to detail. The Bride and Groom had put a lot of thought and effort into their big day and despite being on a "budget" they pulled off what I can only describe as a fantastic morning and evening, the in-between meal part which we spent at the White Hart in iron action was just a sham! We were all expecting a nice homemade roast dinner yet what we were presented with was, cold meat - potatoes that were clearly made the day before and worst of all every single persons home made yorkshire pudding was spoilt by being burnt! Not slightly but very burnt. Now when a member of our party approached the manager about it she was not willing to do anything about it than state the fact people should have mentioned it straight away now I personally feel most people wouldn't do this at someones wedding but would much rather be polite and leave their food which a lot of us did! The manager did eventually agree to discount the "champagne" which the bride and groom had already paid for, no extra bottles were given nor was any money returned to the bride and groom. I would avoid White Hart Inn at all costs! Terrible customer service!
Last month I was on holiday in Bristol with my daughter and I decided to check out the White Hart Inn.The exterior looked so inviting. On entering the door, I was greeted with a friendly smile.
Upon looking at the menu, we decided to stay and eat. A great selection, both for adults and children. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and excellent value for money. Service was second to none.
I will definitely return on my next holiday.
What an improvement:
We stopped here back in November 2009 and the pub was tired, unloved and the hospitality at the time needed huge improvements you could get better service at McDonald's with snotty teenagers serving.
The food we ordered was slow to come and was cold, when we mentioned this to the person serving they snatched the plates and took them away and after 10 minutes they arrived back after being microwaved and over done.
We were travelling back from a family wedding and happened to be driving by and noticed the pub had been repainted on the outside, so stopped to have a look inside, we could not believe the improvement of the place. We stated to question if it was the right pub that we had that horrible experience at a few years before, which it was but this place looked a million dollars compared to what it was like and the hospitality was excellent, the bar staff were very friendly and even spoke to one of the owners who was very happy to spend the time with us to tell us about all the improvements that they had completed.
The food was excellent, very well presented not just dumped on the plate, all fresh and hot and arrived in good time, we enjoyed the mains that much we had to try the homemade desserts.
We will be visiting again the next time we are down to visit family and would like to say thanks for making us feel so welcome.
I do not normally right reviews for places I have been but I felt we had such a great experience and meal that I had to share this with other people.
Went to the white hart iron Acton sunday for a roast and really enjoyed it food was amazing and service was great, there was a lot of choice on the menu something for everyone.
Will be going back there very soon
As visitors to the Iron Acton area, my friend and I stopped here today for a Sunday roast. We had no prior knowledge of this restaurant, but understand that The White Hart has recently re-opened after refurbishment. The whole experience was fabulous - from the pork roast, the loos, the staff and how they treated their guests. We would recommend this establishment wholeheartedly - and look forward to returning when we're in the area again!

White Hart is a definite favourate among local families as they cater very well for children. It is also a haven for couples who want to enjoy each others company as htere are tables that are hidden away.
