His extraordinary feel for the English language, the raucous energy of his performances, his vulnerability and his viciousness, his rage and its origins, his long-suffering family and entourage... They are all here along with plenty of his songs. A really punchy film, I thought - much better than your average linear biopic. Since it's not a full-life biopic, it means we get no more than a mention of his art-school days and his acting career - there's simply too much in his life to fit into one film. So let's hope there'll be another film about Ian Dury in the future to stand alongside this one!

A cleverly crafted film and some very convincing performances make this an interesting, funny, disturbing film about the man who was the epitome of punk. My only criticism is that the film was a tad too long but all in all a great trip down memory lane.
