I always feel like New Years Eve has a big build-up but then it's over in a flash, which is why this year I'm going to plan my evening carefully. To start, I'm going to head New Years Eve in Bristol bars. And boy, what a choice there is!
One of the New Years Eve in Bristol bars that I'm looking forward to is at Cosies. Rob Smith, Flora, Skylion and Deluxs are playing, and for only £6 it should get the night going nicely.
Panache is another one of the New Years Eve in Bristol bars that's on my 'maybe list'. They've got an ice scuplture and a chocolate fountain and they'll be playing R'n'B, funky house and club classics. This will surely get me in the dancing mood and ready for a sing-song of Auld Lang Syne at midnight.
Somewhere holding something a bit out of the ordinary for a New Years Eve in Bristol bars is The Prom. Atomic Rays are playing, and they're covering everyone from David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Mott the Hoople to Deep Purple. It's retro, it's cool, and The Prom always has a great atmosphere. Plus it's down Gloucester Road which is one of my favourite parts of Bristol. The only thing is that the tickets are £15, which may mean I'll have to limit the amount of New Years Eve in Bristol bars I go to, which would be a great shame. But with the credit crunch there's only so much fun I can afford! I certainly don't want to start the New Year in debt, but the way things are going it looks like I'll be doing that anyway. Oh well, here's to a blow-out New Year!
