I visited langley by mistake, but trust me it was one of the best mistake of my Life, WOW what a place. Great Music, excellent cocktails, and very friendly staff. I was shocked to see the reviews below as i had a wonderful time there.
I loved it so much that I am also planing my birthday party there this year.
I go to the Langley all the time so was really shocked to see these reviews when looking through.
I think that for what it is, it delivers. They do not pretend to a michelin star restaurant so their food is tasty and great value for money.
The staff have always been great, of course staff come and go but I have always experienced great service and friendly people.
The music and cocktail's are my fav, especially since they refreshed the cocktail menu. I was there on Sat and saw a live performance from basement jaxx singer and she was amazing.
Don't miss out on this place.
Unfortunately I chose the wrong place for celebrating my birthday!I booked an area in advance and paid a deposit that would cover a drink package, however when ordering my drinks (already paid for) the barman asked me to pay extra money claiming the total value of the drinks was over the amount paid for already.
I tried to argue but did not insist as I had friends waiting and it was my special evening after all. The same barman whistled very loud (!!!) to get my attention to go and get the glasses at the counter... rather embarrassing!
My friends then paid for a platter of food that came (after a couple of chasers) over an hour and half later. The worst still to come.I complained to the club in writing the following day. At first they apologized and asked me to go and collect the money at the venue.
When I replied that they could easily refund the money on the card they previously had charged, they asked me to call and give the card details again, with the promise the money would be transferred back into my account. So I did, and what a surprise - a week later - no money whatsoever was ever refunded.
Unprofessional staff, unprofessional management, a place to definitely avoid in favour to the many other bars and clubs around the area. Mariella
I visited the Langley recently for my birthday drinks as well as checking it out for future work events / xmas party. To sum up, it's a great venue with a good crowd and music. Unfortunately, the staff let it down completely. To start with they phoned me a few days before my birthday drinks to say that i no longer had a booth reserved as someone had paid more money than me, so i was moved to a small table and not offered my money back (£25 fee to reserve a booth as stated on the website...which you are supposed to get back in drinks or food on the night). When we tried to get the x2 jugs of cocktails which were free, we asked for Mojitos which was a big mistake...they tasted like tonic water. After taking them back to the bar to ask them to replace them (in a very polite manner) the guy behind there refused flat to help and said you shouldn't order mojito's as a jug....he also mentioned that they get lots of complaints about them and all jugs of cocktails only have 3 shots overall. So be warned. We asked him why they are still on the menu and he shrugged then walked away. Later in the evening we ordered x2 platters of food for the table and after 50 minutes of waiting nothing arrived. We asked a member of staff how long the food would be and she said she had come to our table and no one was there so she took it back. When we told her that there had been at least a couple of people at the table all evening she laughed and said 'I don't think so'. Again, after 10 mins of assuring her there was someone there all the time she finally went away and brought us food. Her attitude was disgusting. It's such a shame that the staff let The Langley down so much as it really was a great venue. Needless to say I will not be going back there again and def. won't be organising our xmas party there.
Go and check out their new happy hour- it's well worth it. Delicious and cheap cocktails in the heart of Covent Garden. And if you get hungry you can always have a bite in the restaurant. They always look after us and make us feel welcome. Amazing value for money!
I've been visiting the Langley for over four years now, because of its approximity to my work place. But I must say last Friday was the best night i've ever had there by far! I think the management team has changed and it really shows. The staff are very helpful and friendly, service is quick and professional and the new Happy Offer is absolutely amazing!! 5-8 cocktails are only £3.95 or £9.95 for a jug! Doesn't get better than that! They also have a lovely restaurant at the back. So it's a bar, club and a restaurant under one roof. What more could you want?
Been there a couple of times, once for a meal where the staff were really helpful (one of the party had an allergy to gluten and the waitress checked all ingredients for her) but the rest of the food was poor. The second time was a couple of weeks ago for a birthday drink and I did not take my coat off at all - it was FREEZING. Stayed for a couple and then left. The drinks are pricey and the till were broken so took even longer to get service. Not a place that I would rush back to
I visited the Langley for a friends birthday. The bar was very trendy and stylish and the music was good however a lot remained to be said about the prices and customer service of the bar staff.
We had not been to the bar before and therefore were looking at the only menu on the bar. We ordered some drinks but when the prices were told to us they doubled. They said that was the 5-7 menu however on the page we were looking no where did it say it was happy hour prices. The happy hour menu should have been removed after 7 and replaced with an after 7 menu-we were ordered our first drinks at 8.30! I thought this was very sneaky and not a good impression. We mentioned this and the bar staff were very defensive and rude. He said he would get the manager but he never bothered to come talk with us.
I informed the bar staff that they should work on their customer service and were again very rude. Lovely bar but a real shame.
