The festival takes place over seven days and during the week you can see 12 sculptors at work as they chisel away at tree trunks recycled from the woodland estate. You'll also have the chance to buy one of the sculptures at the Sculptree Auction held at the end of the Festival of the Tree. Proceeds are split between Tree Aid, the sculptor and Westonbirt Arboretum and bids can go from £800 right up to £10,000.

Throughout the Festival of the Tree you can join guided walks and trails through the arboretum and discover wild flowers, look for mammals and snap up some fantastic wildlife photography. And little ones can get creative with woodcraft activities, from making a wand with the Fairyland Trust to taking a trip to the tree-tops.
Laboratree
For youngsters there's also a new addition to the Festival of the Tree - Laboratree. Inside this marquee you can discover all sorts of fascinating facts, including the role that trees play in creating a more sustainable future. There will also be Gardeners' Question Time sessions and a resident scientist who'll help explain the world of mini-beasts.
Exhibitree
During the weekend of the Bristol tree festival craftsmen and women will be demonstrating their skills and selling their creations at the woodcraft exhibition known as Exhibitree. You can commission bespoke furniture, pick up hand-crafted gifts and artwork. You also have the chance to have a free masterclass with Canadian carpenter Rob Cosman or help create a giant willow structure for the Westonbirt estate.
