When

November 2009

Where

Bristol and surrounding areas

Fireworks night in Bristol may not be as dazzling now the largest of the Bristol fireworks displays has been cancelled, but there's still plenty of explosive fun. You can see the Bangless Bonfire Night at Bristol Zoo, or travel further for a traditional, noisy display.

The Downs
Unfortunately the biggest of the Bristol fireworks displays has been cancelled due to lack of funding. Apparently not enough of the thousands who turned out for the event put their hands in their pockets and the organisers, Bristol Round Table and Clifton Rotary, have decided they can't risk it. But this doesn't mean you can't celebrate 5th November 2009 in Bristol in glittering style.

1st November 2009

Trinity Free Display
If you can't afford to go along to the big Bristol fireworks displays, head over to Trinity Community Arts where they'll be hosting their annual free firework party. Not only are there fireworks, there's also live music and hot cider. The party takes place from 7pm - 11pm.

5th November 2009

Hot Air Balloons
The beautiful, glowing display of hot air balloons at night is one of the highlights of the Keynsham Rugby Firework Display. There'll also be fireworks, music, fairground rides and a barbecue serving up hot festive fare. Tickets cost £15 for a family. The event takes place from 6pm at Crown Fields in Bristol Road, Keynsham.

5th - 6th November 2009

Bangless Bonfire
For the second year running Bristol Zoo will be hosting their Bangless Bonfire Nights. Their special noiseless fireworks create a dazzling glowing display without the loud bangs and rocket squeals that can scare young children and, of course, upset the zoo animals. Booking is essential as this is a very popular event. The Bangless Bonfire Nights run from 4pm - 5.30pm, 5th November - 6th November 2009. Displays start at 5pm.

6th November 2009

Bonfire Night
At Puxton Park there's the usual Guy Fawkes celebrations but this year they're planning a bigger, better display. Gates open at 6pm and the fireworks start at 8pm. It's £5 entry on the gate and under-twos go free. They'll be festive fare plus family fun.

Star FM
Downend Round Table are hosting not one but two dispalys at the Sutherland Avenue Playing Fields. As well as two fireworks displays there'll be children's entertainment and a PA from Star FM. The event takes place from 6pm - 9pm at Sutherland Avenue King George V Playing Fields. Tickets cost £5/£3 for children.

7th November 2009

Thornbury
In Thornbury the Round Table are hosting their annual display in the Mundy Playing Fields. As well as the fantastic fireworks, including a display especially tailored for children, there'll be funfair rides, seasonal fare and stalls. Gates open at 5.30pm and the children's display starts at 6.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the main display starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £4 or £3 for children.

Clevedon
The Round Table in Clevedon are also hosting a charity display hosted by Firestorm, the Bristol fireworks displays company. There'll be funfair rides and plenty of festive fare to keep you warm. The display takes place at Dial Hill Cricket Ground. Gates open at 6pm and fireworks start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £3 in advance or £4 on the night.

Bristol fireworks displays take place on or around 5th November 2009.
