Album
The Busking For SolarAid Bristol event is free and will see some of the Big Chill Bar's favourite buskers take to the stage for an evening of uplifting live music. The evening is to celebrate the launch of the Busking For SolarAid album with 50 per cent of the profits from sales of the album will go to SolarAid.
Buskers
Dr Butler's Hatstand Medicine Band is one of the acts who'll be performing at the Busking For SolarAid Bristol gig. Other acts to appear on the album include Fran and Josh, Aleister Kelman, Nimmo and the Gauntletts, Catrina Davies, James Tarling/Big Toe, Charlie and the Martyrs, Emily White, Archipelago and Marcina Arnold.
Climate Change
SolarAid brings clean renewable energy to some of the poorest countries in the world in an effort to stop climate change. At the moment, two billion people have no access to electricity and are forced to rely on burning fuels which are not only expensive, but are highly toxic and harmful to the environment. Support this worthwhile cause by heading down to the Busking For SolarAid Bristol gig - it's free!
Solar Power
The Busking For SolarAid album is being released on the Big Chill label and half of the profits will help set up buy solar lamps, solar powered water pumps and improve education. The charity helped the Big Chill be more eco-friendly at this year's festival with the solar stage and also a phone charging service for festival-goers.
The Busking For SolarAid Bristol gig takes place at the Big Chill Bar in Small Street from 7pm - 10pm, 12th November 2009. The gig is free.
