Halloween at Bristol Bars

When

Halloween 2009

Where

Bristol and surrounding areas

Temptation is everywhere this Halloween at Bristol bars. You may hope you'll be in bed before the devil's dancing hour but with extra naughty events on offer you're just going to have to bare those vampire teeth and get stuck in!

Day Of The Dead
Things aren't what they seem this Halloween at Bristol bars, especially down on The Farm. In celebration of all things ghoulish and other-worldly The Farm Pub is hosting a party based on the Mexican Day Of The Dead. They'll be decorating the pub in suitably colourful carnival style although one wall will be left plain black. This is where those of an artistic bent (everyone) can pin up their decorated skull pictures and there's a prize for the best one. There'll also be pinata smashing, a costume competition, games and South American carnival music.

Wicked Witch Of The West
They clearly love the undead at The Mall because not only are they celebrating All Hallows' Eve, they're hosting a full-blown Halloween weekend. And instead of relying on that worn out cliche - Cobweb Castle - they've gone for something more original and have looked to the Mid West for inspiration. As well as apple bobbing and fancy dress competitions, there's hoe-down live music, a poker room, quick draw competitions with water pistols and lots of Bloody Marys.

Magical Staff
Dressing up like a weirdo is what a night's boozing is all about on Halloween. At Bristol bars you can expect to see a few more freaks and ghouls than you normally would on a Saturday, especially at the Elbow Room. Don't be surprised if you're served by a witch, warlock or wizard. The staff are getting into the Halloween spirit by dressing up and you're invited to do the same. Their sister pub, The Woods, is putting on a similarly spooky show.

Goths And Ravers
Goths and rock are a matched made in heaven, or should that be hell? Well, either way, you can release your inner goth this Halloween at The Thunderbolt where The Reacharounds will be reimagining, in a rock-stylee, everything from Abba to Boney M. But ravers needn't feel left out of the ghostly goings on for Halloween at Bristol bars. The new Big Chill bar is hosting I Spit On Your Rave Halloween party, which is also a charity fundraiser for Malawian community projects.

Swamp Monsters
Amoeba have a star-studded affair planned for this Halloween with their Undead Icons theme. A few Michael Jacksons will no doubt be doing Thriller impressions and its a safe bet that there'll be a Joker outfit somewhere in the crowd. This group of tragic icons will be getting down to some live jazz, taking a dip in the hot tub swamp in the garden and trying to catch the attention of judges in the best costume competition. The party runs from 8pm - 1am and entry is free.

Who's Afraid Of The Wolf?
At Mr Wolf's they're hosting a Halloween Party Extravangza courtesy of Kush. Burlesque dancing from The Glitter Kittens should get your pulse racing and you can get a sugarfix from the naughty but nice glamourous candycane sellers. The Duckworths, Scaralet and In The Wilderness are performing live. For your costume you'll want something corseted because it's a burlesque theme. Tickets are available from the Bristol Ticket Shop.

Events for Halloween at Bristol bars take place on or around 31st October 2009.
