Had a bad year? Well if not, lucky you. But if, like me, you can't wait for 2008 to be over, why not make sure you send the year off with a bang? The problem is, events for New Years Eve at Bristol clubs are so plentiful I'm hard-pushed to pick which one.
I'm intrigued by the Brazilian Beats and Fiesta Party at The Warehouse, one of a number of themed parties for New Years Eve at Bristol clubs.
Another one, which also gives you the chance to reminisce (and that's what New Year is all about), is at Fleece.
They're hosting a Now That's What I Call The 80s tribute night. I think this is possibly my one and only chance to dress-up like Cyndi Lauper, so it's a hot contender.
And one that's always worth a look is the Masked Party at the Tobacco Factory with music from Fromage En Feu, and they're giving away a free bottle of Champagne to those with the best masks. It goes on until 2am and they're putting on nibbles so you don't get too squiffy, which is always a risk if you spend New Years Eve at Bristol clubs.
But, who am I kidding, I will inevitably just get sloshed. Although, with the financial crisis, I don't want to spend too much. Like every New Year, I want it to be great, but will I regret it come January? Will it force me to make 'cut up credit card' one of my New Year's resolutions?
Well, thankfully the Bristol club owners seem to have cottoned-on to the fact that we're feeling the pinch and have put on cheaper parties so you can enjoy a budget New Years Eve at Bristol clubs.
Thunderbolt's Gee Baby I Love You is cheap as chips at £10 on the door, or I may booty-shake my way into 2009 with the Buddha Lounge's R'n'B New Year Party. The Bierkeller have their Shenanigans party going on, which looks like it's going to be messy. Tube have Play and Deep Groove on the decks and Start the Bus have a New Year's Eve Local Special.
But one flamboyant party stands head and shoulders above all the other New Years Eve at Bristol clubs is at the gay club Flamingos. Their White Ball party runs until 8am, yes, you read that right, 8am. And for their £30 Drink The Bar Dry ticket you can get unlimited drinks until 3am. Join me in a hiccupy New Year!
