The ViewBristol Review
Classy, sparkly and pricey, Jewel is a dark, elegant den of Moroccan decadence with rich decor and exotic appeal. The VenueWhilst there’s no door policy before 9pm, Jewel reeks of exclusivity - from the intimidating velvet ropes out front to the bouncers behind them. Inside, one of the enticing rooms, Bar Blanca, offers a taste of Morocco and a welcome respite from the buzzing masses of Piccadilly. The aesthetic is unsubtle - large jewelled mirrors, chandeliers and curtains complete the sultry effect - and when (or if) you’re inside the sizeable club, there are various rooms to wander, each with its own unique style.
The AtmosphereThe ‘It’ bar amongst the WAG hopefuls who frequent it, it's highly unlikely that someone would stumble into Jewel for a drink or two. Judging from the polished look of the crowd, the clientele take a lot of time preparing for a night out. Men in casual business attire are joined by women in sequins that sparkle as if the venue’s name was a prerequisite dress code.
The MusicLive DJs play from 9pm until late. The music may leave something to be desired, but you’re not here to pay much attention to the Funky House tunes.
The DrinkJewel is a great bar to hit if you enjoy a great drink. An impressive menu boasts designer martinis and champagne cocktails, plus tasty originals with generous measures. Expert bar staff meticulously prepare each expensive, magical cocktail, which makes it easy to spend several hours soaking it all in and running up a huge bill.
The Last WordPlay it cool and dress to impress if you aspire to make it past the pavement - it’s worth it.
