Incredible, simples!

The best Indian I've had, We never managed to find one this good in all the time we lived in Bristol! This place is a real gem, excellent food and fantastic service that gives you the confidence to be more adventurous and explore the menu fully, which I think we probably have by now!

Thoroughly recommend!

I've just come back from a really poor night out at Spice Dunes. We had just finished our starter when the waiter came over and told us we had to move because they'd made a mistake and needed our table for a party of ten. We weren't given any choice but told we had to move.

He tried to move the two of us to a tiny table right next to a loud and raucous birthday party - we refused to sit there, so they moved us to another table near to where we'd originally been.

They then realised that they couldn't create a table of ten using our old table and told us we could move back. By then our tempers were fraying, so we refused.

The food took forever to arrive and when it did, our onion bhajis tasted as though they had been soaking in oil for a long time and were barely tepid.

There was at least an hour between that and the main course and my veggie main course consisted mainly of shredded cabbage.

The bill was presented to us (we didn't ask for it) and the waiter told us we couldn't pay with a card as the machine was broken.

My friend had the cash, but I didn't. When we pointed this out the waiter just walked away.

He then came back and told us we couldn't pay by card. We asked what we were supposed to do about that as customers, he shrugged and said he would call the manager.

They left us for another 20 minutes, by which time we were really annoyed. We went to reception where all the waiting staff were standing - one trying to fix the payment machine - and ignored us.

When we asked what we were supposed to do and how long we were supposed to wait, they ignored us, until we laboured the point and eventually they said they would take the cash we had.

This was only our second visit to Spice Dunes - the first had been a couple of years ago and was great. From that time, both the food and the service has gone downhill and we had a rubbish night out.

Needless, to say we won't be back.
