For some reason it took me a couple of visits to warm up to Dojo's, but as it stands now it's one of my favorite venues for a night out in Bristol. I try to go most weeks, which is normally quite possible due to the late 4am last entry on Fridays and Saturdays so you can go after other clubs have already closed.
I find that Dojo's standard nights offer better music than every club in the immediate area. The drinks prices are also the best you'll find on weekends when nowhere (decent) is offering student deals. The bar staff are incredibly friendly, in fact you'll even see them on nights off occasionally happy to just have a chat in the outdoor area - same goes for the rest of the staff, overall it's just a friendly experience.
The club's fairly small, and it doesn't fill up until quite late, when it thrives. But until then it attracts such a great crowd of outgoing people that you can just pop outside and sit down for a chat with some nice new people. Gotta love that on a night out!
A well-deserved 5* for Dojo's, I hope you'll agree.
Went in there about 1.30 am on Sat night / Sun morning and the place was practically empty. Paid £6 to get in and sat outside to be confronted with the really strong aroma or marijuana. Complained to the woman on the desk whom I assume was a manager that we had payed £6 for an empty nightclub and drug-use...she was rude and unprofessional. Her attitude was "you get drug-use in any club you go to".
Would not recommend - there are so many better clubs to go to in Bristol for a great night-out.
If it's possible to give them minus stars I would. Paid the money to hire the club out, it was going alright week before the party they turn around saying they're not comfortable with the party. It was a 19th party, majority are 18 at least. We said feel free to ID at the door/bar whatever but NO they decided to cancel it the week before the party. What the hell you get 13s and 14s there all the time telling me it's not a risk they wanna take what risk??? Only wanted to hire it because thought it's cheap. Unprofessional. Intimidating. Unreliable. Bar staffs might charge you ten quid for a pint if they think you're pissed enough. There's always something wrong with the toilets. It's just shit.Amazingly we found somewhere else to celebrate the bithday at a cheaper price, bigger location. friendly attitude and professional. oh yeah it took me 3 attemtps in giving the money to him because he'll tell me a time where hes there and then he doesnt turn up!
Heavy drum n bass sessions here. Because its so small you get a phat atmosphere and there are always plenty of hunnies to rude up
