Have used The Horseshoe on many occasions over the last 5 years. Though lately the service and attitude of the staff has gone vastly down hill. Went for a meal with my partner and his parents one evening and they forgot one of the meals and have met some friends at lunch time during the week. Was told would be a 20 minute wait for a sandwich, over 45 Min's later, still no sandwich and when we asked at the bar, the member of staff said " I told her it was over 30 min wait" When she was corrected and told she had actually said 20 and it is now going on for an hour - there was no apology, just a comment that "it hasn't been an hour". Other friends have also commented on the rudeness of staff at The Horseshoe too. What has happened to customer service?

I to have been to this Pub, Staff are very rude, and not very helpful at all. I would never recommend this pub to any one.

There are certain members of staff who look at you with disgust. Needs sorting out and some of them need sacking, one female bar staff esp..

Visited this Pub on x2 occasions this week Nov/Dec 2011,,1st visit was horrendous with the amount of foul language at the bar while my mother and wife were present trying to order food...we declined and left..My 2nd visit well that was something to be desired..this was early evening while sat trying to relax and have a drink, young children with parents not present just left to run wild throughout the lounge and bar, totally unbelievable.it certainly reduced the cliental in minutes..does anyone manage or run this pub,is there any house management...I think not...they should be ashamed and don't deserve it.Give this place a wide berth to save yourselves any embarrassment or disappointment, absolutely disgusting public shame...a disgrace to the pub trade!!??

Looking for somewhere for Saturday lunch near Kingswood we spotted The Horseshoe on the Internet. The reviews were mixed but we decided to give it a go and were very pleased. The food was good a decent choice and very good value for money. I
would definitely recommend

lovely pub with polite helpful staff .

food here is lovely and a very wide range of choice, very relaxed pub and welcoming to families.

they have a lovely garden with a good fenced in bright play area for the children and if you don't want to drive you can walk there as it is located along the cycle track .

thanks from the witches of the wood

what the hell is going on with the food in this place??

we ordered 2 roast dinners and a child's meal.

they brought 3 plates out the child's meal, and 2 plates of meat and potatoes, the waitress said they will bring the veg out shortly.

so were waiting....5 Min's later still no veg! i go to the bar and ask the barmaid politely whats going on with the veg?

she grunts turns her back on me and storms off into the kitchen.

we are then left waiting for a further 10mins or so until finally our veg was brought out and placed on the table with no explanation to what happened.

our meat and potatoes were cold and the gravy formed a skin by the time the veg had arrived.

and were expected to pay good money for this!

Visited this pub for the first ever time over the bank holiday whilst out with the family for a leisurely bike ride.

The pub has just been refurbished and the food was great. Everyone seemed more than friendly with a great atmosphere.

The kids loved the play area which was fenced off to keep them safe. Great pub to visit with the family on a sunny day out.

It could be a really nice pub. The food is amazing...a very good few chefs and the pints are perfet...but, the locals are intimidating in the day, if you sit anywhere near them, expect a long cold stare. At night, it is basically a youth club for the just old enoughs to drink. The manager does seem to be sorting this out though. The majority of the bar staff are nice, but some don't give you the time of day, even if you are ordering food.
It's a nice pub, with a good manager, but it's full of the wrong people, but that has alot to do with it's situation.

Needs to be made more inviting to all age groups at all times.
Also needs to stand out more and be more comfortable inside
