Went to bauhinia for the first time last night for a work christmas party and had a really great time. The restaurant was beautiful and cosy inside and the asian theme was fun, but not tacky or over-the-top. The food was delicious and with a party menu at £10.90 for 2 courses it was good value for money too. The service was good and the staff were helpful with a colleague that has specific allergies. We also enjoyed the wine (!!) and shared a fair few bottles of sauvingnon blanc which were lovely. I definitely plan to go back to bauhinia, as there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that caught my eye! I think it is definitely worth going on their website and perusing the menu then going along and trying it for yourself ... enjoy!

I absolutely love this place and it has become quite a regular haunt of mine and my husbands. We particularly like the early bird menu where there are 2 courses for £8.90. Sometimes these early bird menus can be a bit dissapointing, but at Bauhinia some of the nicest food on the menu is on there.

For starter I would recommend their Thai salmon fishcakes and for main the Thai Green Curry is beautiful (maybe I have a thai addiction!). However if you plan to make a night of it, then the 'Laksa' from the main menu is delicious and a good healthy portion size.

With authentic chinese delights such as prawn crackers and sweet and sour duck coming together with freshly cooked thai and japanese foods, I have never taken a friend who didn't find a dish that they didn't like. The service is very good (as I often find in independent restaurants) and the staff are knowledgeable about both the food and drinks menu. They can get quite busy at the weekend however, and we have made the mistake of not booking so we recommend that you ring ahead.

Overall a lovely restaurant with delicious food, highly recommended.

I have been coming here since they opened and i have NEVER had a bad experience here. The food has always been excellent and very fairly priced, especially if you get there before 7, they have a 2 course meal deal for £8.90!! This is the place i always choose to bring my friends if they haven't been before. Great food accompanied by great staff, always very friendly and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!PS - The Chilli Salt Squid is to die for.

I live just around the corner and i go all the time! It is my favourite restaurant in Bristol - much nicer than Wagamamas. The food is great! The staff are really friendly and really helpful, I always have a great time there but i do recommend you book for the weekends as they are very popular. They have a huge range of drinks and many fun cocktails. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes Thai food - their Thai Green Curry is the best!

This is my favourite asian restaurant! Great food, really nice, relaxing atmosphere and great price!

They have a £8.90 2 course meal- there's loads of choice. A nice range of asian beers- my fave is kirin!

Sometimes we go for the long haul, order from the normal menu, get a bit tipsy on cocktails, finishing the meal with tasty fire crackers- you have to try them!

We have ended up staying til closing time a few too many times- but the staff are always so nice and the owner will even play your fave tune!

This is a great family run restaurant, amazing, fresh, good quality food in a cosy environment. If you're looking for a boring, traditional chinese or thai restaurant- go elsewhere! if you're searching for a hidden gem- you've just found it!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol! The food is always spot on, it feels really relaxed and friendly. They have an early bird deal before 7pm- there's loads of choice and the same generous sized portions, it's only £8.90- which is great for freshly cooked, good quality food!If we're feeling in need of a treat we order from the normal menu- still really good price, have a few cocktails (careful some a STRONG!). Nice selection of desserts too- really recommend the fire crackers! One of my favourite things is that they have seasonal menu- I think it changes monthly, there's always something new and exciting to try!If you're lucky enough to become a regular like us- you'll find the staff so genuinely lovely- and the owner/chef will even play your fave tune!

Horrible place!

I went with my boyfriend, the food was below standard, and when I got half way through my noodles, I found a bit of blue plastic in there!

The management refused to replace it because I'd eaten half, but I didn't find it till then. Ugh!! They were rude and insulting. There are so many better place to eat in Bristol. Try the Thali Cafe or Rupsha instead.

Please dont listen to the retards above...the restaurant is well priced and cuisine cooked to an authentic south east asian standard. I have visited pretty much all asian restaurants, in Bristol, over the years and consider myself a relatively worthy judge therefore. The standard dish of pad thai served at Bauhinia is one of the best that the west country can offer and the culinary starters are fitting for all avid Thai fans...

Retards? That's a very personal attack on someone who is merely sharing their experience of a restaurant. I suspect that you are in some way affiliated with the place. I went there myself and found it to be way below standard. By all means share your experience, but let's not insult people. In fact, your aggressive demeanour merely illustrates the standard of customer to be found in this 'restaurant'.
